Lost and Found
Act 1: The Lost Phone
Characters: John, Sarah, Tom, and Kate
Scene: A coffee shop in downtown
John sits at a table, scrolling through his phone. Sarah, Tom, and Kate walk in and greet him.
Sarah: Hi, John! What's up?
John: Hey! Just checking my messages. I'm waiting for a call from my client.
Tom: Did you try calling him?
John: Yeah, but his phone is off. I'm getting a bit worried.
Kate: Maybe he lost his phone?
John: Maybe. That could explain why he's not answering my calls.
Sarah: You know, I lost my phone once. It was a nightmare. But luckily, someone found it and returned it to me.
Tom: Yeah, me too. It's always good to have your contact information on your lock screen, so people can call you if they find your phone.
John: Hmm, I'll have to remember that. Thanks for the tip.
Just then, a woman walks up to their table, holding a phone.
Woman: Excuse me, is anyone named John here?
John: Yes, that's me. Is that my phone?
Woman: Yes, I found it on the street outside. Your lock screen had your email address on it, so I emailed you and asked if you were at this coffee shop.
John: Wow, thank you so much! You're a lifesaver!
Woman: No problem. Glad I could help.
John, Sarah, Tom, and Kate all thank the woman and continue chatting about how lucky John was to get his phone back.
Act 2: The Lost Wallet
Characters: John, Sarah, Tom, and Kate
Scene: A restaurant in the evening
The four friends sit at a table, waiting for their food.
Sarah: I'm starving. When is our food going to come?
Tom: I don't know. But where's John's wallet? You're usually the one who pays for everything.
John: Oh no. I must have left it at the office. I'll be right back.
Kate: Want one of us to come with you?
John: No, it's okay. I'll be quick.
John rushes out of the restaurant.
Sarah: I hope he finds his wallet.
Kate: Yeah, it's never a good feeling to lose something important.
Just then, a man walks up to their table, holding a wallet.
Man: Excuse me, is anyone named John here?
Sarah: Yes, that's our friend. Why, has he lost something?
Man: Yes, I found his wallet outside. I was going to leave it with the lost and found, but I saw his ID in it and thought I should try to find him.
Kate: That's so kind of you.
Sarah: Thank you so much. I'll text him and tell him to come back.
John returns just a few minutes later, looking relieved.
Sarah: You won't believe what happened! This kind man found your wallet and brought it to us.
John: Oh my god, thank you so much! I don't know what I would have done without my ID and cards.
The man smiles and nods, then goes back to his table.
Act 3: The Lost Dog
Characters: John, Sarah, Tom, and Kate
Scene: A park on a sunny afternoon
The four friends are having a picnic in the park. John's dog, Max, is playing fetch with a ball.
Kate: Max is so cute. I love dogs.
Sarah: Me too. Hey, where's Max?
Tom: Yeah, I haven't seen him in a few minutes.
John: Oh no. Not again.
John gets up and starts calling for Max.
Sarah: Want us to help you look for him?
John: Yes, please.
The four friends split up and start searching the park for Max.
It takes a while, but finally, Sarah calls out, \"I found him!\" Max comes running up to her, his tail wagging.
John: Thank god. I was starting to worry.
Kate: We're glad we could help.
Tom: Yeah, Max is part of the gang now.
Sarah: You know, it's always a good idea to put a tag on your dog's collar, with your name and phone number. That way, if he gets lost, someone can call you.
John: Yeah, I'll make sure to do that. Thanks, guys.
They all go back to their picnic, happy to have found Max.
